Widely used as taxis and company cars, the Octavia and Superb often reach several hundred thousand kilometres, and the key wears out before the car. We make the spare with the same Volkswagen electronics.
Retractable blade; we also replace the shell when the hinge breaks.
Unlock and start without taking the key out, programmed via diagnostics.
Skodas use Volkswagen Group technology. Earlier-generation Fabia, Octavia and Superb models mostly use a flip key; more recent models, including the Scala, Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq, can be fitted with the KESSY system, which lets you unlock and start without taking the key out. An emergency blade is then stored inside the fob. The key’s transponder chip is registered in the immobiliser system, which will not allow the engine to start with an unpaired key. On high-mileage vehicles, it is mainly the blade, the button contacts and the spring of the flip blade that wear out. For a car shared between several drivers, having two working keys avoids the car being stuck at the slightest mix-up. If all keys are lost, have the chassis number (VIN) ready: it identifies the generation and the original key.

Yes. With heavy use, the blade rounds off, the buttons lose contact and the folding mechanism tires. A badly worn blade can also wear the door lock. If the key still works, making a spare quickly avoids relying on a key at the end of its life.
The Skoda manual describes an emergency start procedure, which involves holding the key against a specific spot near the steering column. The emergency blade, meanwhile, opens the driver’s door. Then replace the battery; if the key is still not detected, have it checked.
From €50 for the simplest keys. The price depends on the model, year and key type (blade, remote, hands-free). Send us these details for a free quote.
