How Chrysler keys work
The PT Cruiser and older Voyager models have a conventional bladed key: the chip in the head is read by the aerial around the ignition barrel, and the remote is either built into the head or separate depending on the year. The first-generation 300C keeps a bladed key with a remote in the head. The Fobik on more recent models works differently: this bladeless fob is pushed into an electronic ignition unit that reads the key; a small emergency blade is stored inside to open the door. Worth knowing: several Lancias sold in Belgium, such as the Thema and Voyager, are rebadged Chryslers and use the same keys. As these cars have become rare at dealerships, the chassis number (VIN) is valuable to identify the right key, especially on a model imported from the United States.

Your questions
My Grand Voyager Fobik is stuck in the ignition, what should I do?
Don’t force it: check that the gear lever is in park and the ignition is off, because the electronic ignition unit holds the key until those conditions are met. If the Fobik stays stuck, the problem may be the key or the ignition unit; a diagnostic check tells them apart before anything is replaced.
Can my Lancia Voyager take a Chrysler key?
The Lancia Voyager is a rebadged Chrysler Grand Voyager, so its key system is the same. The key is made and programmed as for the matching Chrysler model; only the logo may differ. Tell us the year and chassis number so we can confirm the key type before the job.
