How Jeep keys work
The Jeep range brings together electronics from different origins. The Renegade and Compass, from the former Fiat Chrysler group, use a flip key on base versions and a smart key with a start button on better-equipped trims. The recent Cherokee and Grand Cherokee have a smart key whose emergency blade slides out of the casing; older Wranglers keep a bladed key with the remote in the head. The Avenger, launched in 2023, sits on a platform shared with Peugeot and Opel models: its key has nothing in common with a Renegade’s. On such a recent model, the feasibility of a key is checked with the chassis number (VIN). Wranglers and Grand Cherokees imported from the United States may use a different remote frequency from European versions, another reason to start from the chassis number.

Your questions
Is my Jeep Avenger key compatible with a Renegade key?
No. The Avenger uses electronics from a platform shared with Peugeot and Opel, very different from the Renegade and Compass. The keys are not interchangeable. As the Avenger is recent, send us the chassis number (VIN) to check the feasibility of a spare before the free quote.
I imported a Wrangler from the United States, can a spare be made in Belgium?
Often yes, but the original key must be identified precisely, as the remote frequency and key version may differ from a European Wrangler. Bring the existing key and give us the chassis number (VIN): we check compatibility before ordering any key.
How much does a spare Jeep key cost?
