How Infiniti keys work
Infinitis sold in Europe fall into two technical families. The Q50, Q70, QX70 and FX use the Nissan Group smart key: entry and start without taking the key out, a start button, and a mechanical blade hidden in the casing to open the door when the battery is flat. The Q30 and QX30, on the other hand, were developed on a Mercedes-Benz platform: their key electronics differ from those of other Infinitis and are not handled the same way. That is why the exact model matters. A smart key that is poorly detected often first shows up as a dashboard message and reduced locking range. As these cars are few in Belgium, the feasibility of a spare or replacement key is checked case by case with the chassis number (VIN), followed by a free quote.

Your questions
Is my Infiniti Q30 key the same as a Q50 key?
No. The Q30 and QX30 are based on Mercedes-Benz underpinnings, while the Q50 uses Nissan electronics. The two keys are neither interchangeable nor programmed the same way. Give us the exact model and chassis number (VIN) so feasibility can be checked before the free quote.
My Infiniti Q50 key is no longer detected, how do I start the car?
Slide the mechanical blade out of the casing to open the door, then follow the emergency start procedure in the handbook, which usually means bringing the key close to the start button. Then replace the battery. If the key is still not detected, try the second key and contact us with the chassis number.
